An Evening of Love Enjoyed By All
We held our Valentine’s evening on Saturday 16th February. Thirty four members and friends attended the evening and an excellent dinner was served. The social room was decorated with heart shaped curly willow floral decorations and the table decorations of red roses. Later, requested favourite "love songs" were played and everyone joined in the singing.

The evening was a happy occasion and confirmed the love and friendships that are so prevalent at this church.

Desert Island Discs

Saturday 17th May

The first social event to be held in the newly developed dual purpose area of the church was our version of Desert Island Discs.  This event was attended by 36 members and friends.

An excellent sit down dinner was prepared and cooked by Mrs. Angela Corbett and Mrs. Pat Stapleton.  After dinner Mr. John Corbett, our Church Secretary, made a special presentation of a set of garden furniture to our minister and his wife, Nola.  This was in recognition of all the hard work they had contributed to the church over the years and in particular to mark the very special occasion of the completion of the major work that had been carried out recently.

The castaway for the evening was Mr. Peter Stapleton, who shared with us some of his chosen music and related many stories of his life's journey.  Mr. Tom Rainey presented the programme.  The excellent decorations which were created and provided by Mrs. Diana Rainey included a back-drop of a fishing net,  hammock, treasure chest and palm tree.  There were even monkeys, bananas and coconuts in evidence and the presenter and castaway sat in deck chairs and wore shorts, sandals and socks!!

The evening was rated as a great success and our minister, The Rev'd Angus McCormick, thanked everyone for their efforts.
